Mary Tyler Moore - Happy, Kind & Learning to Speak Her Mind

Who doesn't love Mary Tyler Moore?  Her enthusiasm and friendship shines through in everything she does.  She is kind and honest and vulnerable.  In most most of her TV shows you see the mending of relationships or her personal growth in some way.  When I think of most of the characters she portrays in in media it is usually one who is super kind and happy who learns to step up and express her voice, to hold her own.

I think learning to be kind and to be authentic and vulnerable and still express our thoughts and feelings and still hold our own is something that many of us spend much of our lives learning.  For that, I think she is a great role feminine role model.  What other women do you think are great role models in the media?

Our favorite works of Mary Tyler Moore's are when she played
Laura Petrie (whose maiden name was Laura Meehan) in The Dick Van Dyke Show.

And when she played Miss Dorthy Brown in Thoroughly Modern Millie.
